Long time no post

Hey bloggers. I have not posted in a while. I am taking a break from the merc character and doing some anatomy study as well as some hard surfacing modeling. Here is my progress on a concept military by khang le. There is still a ways to go on this but I think its turning out pretty good. I am also gathering reference from similar real world vehicles and other real military type vehicles to do some additional details on the sides we don't see.

This is a project I did for work where I was tasked to model an image of a microfribril which is a super close up of a wood fiber. The final one that I ended up with is on the top after a couple of revisions going from the bottom up. Hope u enjoy. this was a unique project to say the least. :)

Merc Update

Hey all u Barenstain Bears!!!
I have a pretty big update on my current project. I will also post the concept that I have been working from. So I have incorporated almost all of this clothing/armor pieces. I have not sculpted them yet I have just made them. I also deviated a little from the design of his boots. I am going to be defining a little more than the concept shows. I have some screen grabs so to see what I have done a little more. I was also able to get one more level of detail on his head. I can probably get at least one if not two more levels out of it. I know the concept does not have ears but I have been sculpting them in just for practice. I still need the bottom of the boot. A few things on his wrist guards and then I need to design the tube/backpack thing he has on. Enjoy!

Alien Mercenary WIP

Hey all,
This is an alien mercenary I have been working on. Still lots to do but here is where I am at so far. This is based on a painting by Carlos Haunte. So far I only have his body and shirt worked on. I will need to break up his body into different pieces so I can get more detail out of them but I am pretty happy with the progress so far. Thanks to the snow day I was able to get a good chunk done. Enjoy and more to come soon.

ZSketchbook

Starting a sketchbook using Zbrush. I wanted to start trying to get faster and more efficient so I decided to start sketching in between bigger projects. Here is a quick 2.5 hr doodle. I am trying to keep these sketches under 3 hrs to try and force myself into getting a better pipeline. This is something I started with just a few Zshperes and wanted to just let my mind go and see where it led me. It reminds me of the rock monster in The Never ending story. Well anyway. More to come.

Sculpting Update

Here is an update on the sculpt I have been doing. I still plan on retoping him, texturing, and lighting and rendering with Vray. I think I am just about done with the sculpting though. Enjoy!

Some new works from work

Hey all,
I wanted to share some work I did recently. This is for a company called Lexar homes. This company branched off of a older company we did work for 2 years ago. The client wanted all of the
homes we did for the older company updated to fit the new market as well as updated 3d quality. Here is my version (bottom) as well as the older version for comparison(top). My involvement included remodeling the entire house, new textures and lighting as well as designing the landscaping. The grass was done with the built in hair and fur modifier within max. We got the foliage and trees from the crazy guys over at archmodels. The rendering was done in Vray. After this home the client wanted all 22 more done so now I am managing a small group of guys to get the rest done. Enjoy!
